For almost 12 years, Mary Ann Gazelle Halili has been a familiar and much-loved member of the College & Ossington Dental team. Many of our long-time patients ask for Mary Ann by name — a reflection of the trust and relationships she has built through her exceptionally gentle, calm and caring approach.
Soft-spoken and reassuring, Mary Ann has a wonderful ability to put patients at ease. She believes that excellent dental hygiene care should not only be thorough, but also comfortable, respectful and personalized to each patient.
Her experience in dentistry extends well beyond dental hygiene. Born and raised in the Philippines, Mary Ann earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and practised as a dentist for 10 years before spending another 12 years working at an Armed Forces hospital in the Middle East.
After moving to Canada with her family in 2012, she returned to school to qualify as a Dental Hygienist. Her academic achievements earned her both the Governor General’s Academic Medal for achieving the highest academic standing in her diploma program and the Academic Achievement Award for Dental Hygiene. She has been practising as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Ontario since 2014.
Mary Ann is passionate about prevention and helping patients maintain their oral health for the long term. She continually participates in professional development and training to keep her knowledge and skills current.
She is a member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association, and is a founding member and Board Director of the Filipino Canadian Dental Hygienists Society.
But credentials only tell part of Mary Ann’s story. What truly sets her apart is the relationship she develops with her patients. Her gentle touch, patience and genuine concern for their comfort have made her one of the most requested members of our clinical team.
Outside the office, Mary Ann loves spending time with her family, discovering new restaurants, travelling, singing and catching up with friends over a good cup of coffee.
